Consultation

As I oft express, learning and education is not a disembodied work of the intellect; but it is an all-comprehensive and holistic embodiment of knowledge from its inmost spiritual dimensions unto to its most bodily periphery.

 

My approach to personal consultation and mentoring follows my work on theoretical psychology as outlined in my book The Unity of Becoming. It is an integration of the following approaches:

• Consultation: I ultimately term my work as 'consultation' due to its overarching professional and systematic structure. Before I work with a client at any of the following levels, we will first rigorously conceive the formal structure of our engagement. I leverage my previous experience in:

  • Educational Consultancy: I am a researcher of the philosophy and history of education. I am the first benefactor of my educational vision, having put myself through a rigorous program of study over the last 10 years which has involved studying at Oxford, a seminary in Cambridge, and living and studying in Morocco and Egypt. I can both offer general advice and also design a tailor made educational syllabus.

• Coaching and Mentoring: we first analyse the different dimensions and spheres of life, from the noetic, mental, physical, social, financial, and so on. This 'hands on' approach is necessary before the deeper work of self-realisation can begin. The purpose of my work is not theoretical instruction, but it is a very practical transformation. To that end, I work in the capacity of a coach and mentor as is needed to realise our greater ambitions.

• Psychotherapy: I will begin by cautioning that I am not a qualified psychotherapist (though it is something I am looking into), and that is not the purpose of my sessions. But I will integrate approaches from both CBT and psychotherapy, particularly the transcendental and integrative approach, while also drawing on the symbolical strands of thought of the Jungian school. I would caution that modern psychotherapy is functional more than foundational, and while it offers a mental technology, it cannot proffer a deeper understanding let aloe realisation of the self.

• Spiritual Sciences: as I explain in my Science of the Soul series and course, there is a rigorous, mathematical, systematic, and scientific approach to spirituality. This is the ultimate aim of my work, which is self-realisation, and total integration.
