Course Description and Syllabus

An introduction to Arabic, following from the 'Keys to Arabic' which opened for us the deep metaphysical and mystical dimensions of the Arabic language. We will study Arabic as the Word of God, approaching it not as a mere matrix of communication, but as a pure communion with the Divine. This course will include: - A Crash Course in General Grammar - A Crash Course in Arabic Grammar - Introduction to Arabic Morphology - Introduction to Arabic Syntax - Studying Short Chapters of the Qur'ān - Learning Arabic through the Qur'ān About the Course: The course will consist of approximately 8 lessons spread roughly throughout 2 months. I will add you to a WhatsApp group where we will coordinate timings, and where I can continuously answer any questions you have throughout the week. The lessons will consist of a small lecture of about 20-30 minutes, and the rest of the time will be working through the Arabic of the Qur'ān in a guided format. I will also continue to host a lecture on Arabic every week (that is separate to this course). Learning Aims: The student should understand the architecture of the Arabic language, and be able to rigorously follow along an Arabic text alongside the help of a teacher. The student should be able to identify core grammatical constructions and begin mastering foundational Arabic vocabulary. This course will open up the path to more serious study. The student should have a clear idea of how their study of Arabic should unfold after this course.
